Patient Advocacy
Hennepin Healthcare and the Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute (HHRI) are committed to protecting research participants and the community by conducting scientifically and ethically sound research and ensuring individuals’ safety, rights and welfare are safeguarded.
We maintain the highest ethical standards and quality in our research. Our programs are compliant with strict federal regulations and are subject to oversight by governing bodies charged with protecting all people involved in clinical research.
Additionally, HHRI has undergone a rigorous process to earn accreditation by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP). Earning AAHRPP accreditation confirms our commitment to protecting research volunteers.
AAHRPP Accreditation
Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute has undergone a rigorous process to earn accreditation from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP), a leading, independent organization that accredits institutions that conduct medical research trials involving people. AAHRPP accreditation indicates Hennepin Healthcare's commitment to maintaining the highest level of ethical standards and practices in our medical research programs.
How Are You Protected? AAHRPP Accreditation
AAHRPP promotes research excellence by offering accreditation to organizations that commit to high standards for research ethics and safety. Our AAHRPP accreditation provides an added assurance of quality for research participants and partners.
As an AAHRPP-accredited organization, we build protections for research participants into every study we conduct. In addition to complying with government regulations for research involving people, we go a step above and beyond by meeting all AAHRPP accreditation requirements, which are considered the worldwide gold standard.
