HHRI is excited to announce the adoption of a new organizational mission and set of core values.

The new HHRI Mission is:

Transforming health and healthcare for all through ethical research and meaningful community partnerships.

The new Core Values for HHRI are:

Excellence
World-class health science research and education engages, serves, and uplifts impacted communities’ experience.

Integrity
Advance ethical research through transparency, trust, and open communication.

Collaboration
Build and sustain meaningful partnerships to ensure responsive research driving real-world impact.

This mission and values are the result of a robust strategic planning effort that solicited input from a broad range of internal and external stakeholders over an 18-month period. This strategic framework represents a new chapter in HHRI’s long history of pursuing research excellence by elevating the concepts of community and partnership in our vision of the future. It also better represents the alignment and commitment to transforming health and healthcare that HHRI shares with its parent organization, Hennepin Healthcare System (HHS).

The new strategic plan includes multiple dimensions and touches on several functional areas that will be targeted for optimization including priority alignment between HHS and HHRI, community engagement and partnership building, revenue and sponsor diversification, infrastructure enhancements, and workforce development.

This new strategic plan is a 3-to-5-year plan and is designed to be a dynamic framework that will be refined as we learn and work together towards the goals we’ve outlined. We look forward to sharing key updates about our progress as the work unfolds.
