Malaria Drug Resistance and Treatment Access
Through the University of Maryland Center for Vaccine Development and the Malaria Alert Centre in Blantyre Malawi, Dr. Frosch studied changing malaria resistance patterns and the relationship to national endorsed malaria treatment guidelines. In recent years, the frequency of malaria cases in the United States continues to rise. Hennepin Healthcare System sees more of these patients than any other hospital in Minnesota. With our experience in malaria treatment and prevention, we have worked with community partners to ensure safe and affordable access to antimalarial treatments and advocated to increase access to these lifesaving medications for patients in our community.
